Bosom Buddies

Bosom Buddies is a volunteer cancer support group established by a group of breast cancer survivors dedicated to helping others cope with the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of breast cancer. Bosom Buddies meet the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Franklin County Health Department. For more information, call (502) 695-1176.

Diabetes Support Group

Frankfort Regional Medical Center hosts a Diabetes Support Group that meets the first Thursday of each month at the Franklin County Public Health Center. For more information, call the Franklin County Public Health Center at (502) 564-5559.

Look Good...Feel Better

Look Good...Feel Better is a non-medical program that gives confidence, courage, and support to women undergoing cancer treatment. Using products donated by the cosmetics industry, Look Good...Feel Better teaches women an array of beauty techniques to help them manage the appearance-related effects of treatment.

Each two-hour group session features hands-on instruction from a certified cosmetology professional and includes.

  • step-by-step skin care and makeup lesson

  • nail care techniques

  • creative coping with hair loss using wigs, scarves, hats, hairpieces, and other accessories

Look Good...Feel Better is open to women of all ages who are undergoing radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or other forms of cancer care. Workshops are free, but registration is required. Tiny Miracles Support Group

Tiny Miracles is a support group for any family member with a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience. Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of every month (starting April 12, 2011) at 6:30 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Classroom at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Each meeting will include a guest speaker to cover issues for current NICU babies or those that have recently graduated (ex: car seat safety, RSV, breastfeeding, respiratory issues).
