The Rehab Center of Frankfort Regional Medical Center provides rehabilitation services at our outpatient facility to treat individuals whose level of independence and function has been compromised by an injury, illness or disease. We utilize an interdisciplinary approach with treatments being provided by our highly skilled, experienced physical and occupational therapists and speech language pathologists in a supportive friendly environment.  Our primary focus is to assist patients in reaching their maximum level of functioning and improve their overall quality of life.  In addition, the Rehab Center is the only outpatient facility to offer comprehensive pediatric rehabilitation services in the Frankfort area.  We also offer services for work-related injuries.

We tailor services to meet the needs of patients within a wide age range from pediatric to geriatric cases with varying levels of functional involvement and complexity. Patients who may benefit from participation in our outpatient rehab program include but are not limited to the following conditions:

Specialized Services - We offer specialized services provided by individuals who have gained clinical expertise through additional education/ training and certification coupled with experience. These services include:

• Comprehensive Pediatric Rehabilitation - provided in our dedicated pediatric gym space equipped for sensory integration activities
• Dysphagia Management - individuals with dysphagia experience difficulty swallowing which may occur as a result of stroke, brain injury or surgery.  Speech therapy for this problem focuses on retraining the muscles of the mouth and throat to restore as much of the normal swallow function as possible while also helping to ensure a safe diet consistency.
• Lymphema Management - provided by certified lympedema therapists to address the swelling that occurs from fluids in the arm, leg, neck or face due to surgery, radiation, fractures or family history.
• Sensory Integration Pediatric Rehabilitation - children with sensory problems show limitations in the brains abilitiy to process information received through the senses.  Our therapists are skilled in working with children with this problem to improve their ability to interact with people and their environment.
• Vestibular Rehabilitation  - beneficial for individuals experiencing problems with dizziness, unsteadiness and balance issues.

In addition, we also offer a Wellness Program provided in a supportive group setting to assist individuals in building and/or maintaining their level of activity and endurance.

Appointments:
For a therapy evaluation and/or treatment, appointments can be made by the referring physician’s office or directly by the patient. All therapy services require a physician’s order prior to treatment. We accept most
insurance plans.
