TOBACCO FREE CAMPUS

Acknowledging the inconsistency between advising on the health hazards of tobacco use and allowing its use on hospital grounds, Frankfort Regional Medical Center is taking a stronger position launching our tobacco-free campaign and prohibiting tobacco use by anyone - employees, volunteers, medical staff, contract staff, vendors, patients and visitors - throughout our entire campus.

Effective November 19, 2009 in conjunction with the American Cancer Society's 34th Great American Smokeout Challenge, Frankfort Regional Medical Center will provide smoke & tobacco-free environments.

Tobacco use of any kind will not be permitted:

  • on the grounds of the hospital and medical pavilion
  • at any office/program operated off-site by Frankfort Regional Medical Center (including the Rehab Center and Lawrenceburg Campus).

If you are a patient who smokes, you may request that your physician prescribe a smoking cessation aid for you while you are with us.  We will do our part to make you comfortable in this new environment, and ask that you and your family support the effort while you are with us.

The Franklin County Health Department offers tobacco cessation support and education classes to help community residents quit using tobacco products.  For more information, call (502) 564-5559.  Community members can also call the Kentucky Tobacco Quit-line at (800) QUIT-NOW to receive one-on-one proactive counseling for tobacco users.
